Description:
PAS is a powerful program, created for the protocol analyzis and simulation of asynchronous serial data and their overlaid protocols.
PAS is the result of experiences that have been made in connection with serial interfaces. It was developed to offer all facilities from the analysis up to the simulation of serial connections for developers, quality controlling and service personal.
PAS can be used:
- to detect errors very fast (hardware
as well as software) which can occur
during the serial communication of
two stations,
- to provide a comfortable check-help
for the development of a serial
coupling.
- to simulate a target system by PC,
- to simulate expensive or unwieldy
stations (e.g. in case of a machine
simulation) by PC and so replacing
them.
PAS has the ability to perform several tasks at the same time, e.g. simultaneously displaying received data on screen, running a simulation program and saving data into a file.
Main Features
- Suppot for up to 8 RS-232
- RS-422/485 support (optional)
- Operating modes
- Monitor Mode
- Terminal Mode
- Crossmonitor Mode
- Simulation Mode
- Continuation Mode
- Representation of as pulse-diagram
- Four different data displays:
HEX, CNTR-ASCII (Mnemonic), IBM-
ASCII, EBCDI
- Data display for received and
transmitted data, displayed in one
window or separately in two windows
- Character display:
HEX, ASCII, DECIMAL, BINARY
- Display of the UART-Register-Contents
- Setting of the COM-Interfaces and
parameters (baud rate, data bits,etc.)
- data transmission rate up to 115200
- the FIFO support switchable
- offline calculation of the checksum
over any region: CRC-16, CRC-32, CRC-
CCITT, XOR, ADD in decimal and hex
- Timing analysis of the recorded data;
resolution < 1 ms; up to 40 days
- Flexible trigger modes
- Simulation
- high level, C/Pascal-similar
programming language
- the developed simulation program
will be compiled into machine
code
- the simulation program runs
parallel to PAS
- easy creation of telegrams,
protocols, test procedures, etc.
- separated definitions of protocol
and data level
- recognition and display of protocol-
specific timeouts
- user-defined event messages
- keyboard scan possible
- standard protocols (e.g. 3964R)
contained in source
- text editor included
- continually storing of received and
transmitted data into a data buffer
and - if selected - into a
recording file
